are 215/40/17 ok instead of 215/45/17

are 215/40/17 ok instead of 215/45/17
Just realised i had 4 215/40/17 fitted by mistake should have had 215/45/17 fitted what diffrence does this make?

What year car is it for? If it a classic then they are the right tyres , if it is on a new age then it will mean that the speedo will over read.

The cars a classic my97 i thought they should be 45? do you know what pressures i should run?

I had no problems running 40's
160mph on the clock was registered at 149.2mph 1 1/4 at elvington

You have the right tyres . Try running 32psi allround and go from there .

If you had 205/45/17 then that would be ok, but 215/45/17 is the wrong size for a classic so the 215/40/17 is the size you want
