Post TURBO PERFORMANCE VF22

What is the performance of a VF 22 - 14411AA2221-198103.
Does anyone know the boost pressure (mmhg) and the safe level for daily use.

Engine EJ20 with STI9 Crank, Eagle rods, RA pistons. Jap 300bhp.

It must be good for tweaking up the boost level and not having to rag the dawgs-nuts out of the engine.

Thanks again

A known weak turbo that performs pretty averagae against current available solutions. I wouldn't bother. If you insist (or it's free), I wouldn't run it much about 1.4 bar. Not sure on the VF22, but the 23 compressor blades fail at around 1.45.

Thanks Richard I will bear it all in mind when tweaking later.

The VF22 is on JPM 2door/WRX-TypeR/V-Limited/RA gearbox which is currently having a complete engine rebuild with the STI9 Crank & Bearings/Eagle Conrods/RA Pistons (just piston rings to source now)/Cusco performance clutch/Heat Insulation for Turbo/Headers and pipes.

The inlet on the Turbo has already been opened to the same size as the blades and the mechanic believes that it may have been balanced with internal tweaks, I am trying to find out if that is the case.

Its top end is still restricted at the moment, it does however do 0-60mph in around 4.5 and I was looking to possible increase performance without reving the nuts off it.

Thanks again.

Vf22 used here at 1.3 bar for about two weeks from brand new, it then decided to throw a blade form the compressor wheel.

pure shyte and best left alone

If you already have the VF22 at your disposal, send it to Turbo dynamics and get it turned into an MD304/305, much more reliable!
