Default g sensor?

hi! hooked up my my99 uk impreza turbo to one of those nifty all car diagnostic machines 2day and it had an error saying the g sensor was shorted with the battery, or something like that. what does this mean?

A lateral-G sensor determines if the car is braking in a corner and directs more braking force to the outer rear wheel which has more traction to apply it.

Have no idea what that means

Better get it checked out though.

Surely this is only with the newer cars and not on an MY99 car?

Was is a dealer you took the car to?
