Has the flames caused any damage to your bumper, or have you protected the bumper with something?
Maybe a metal plate or some kind of covering under the bumper?

 

Never had any problems with either of my scoobs

 

Are your flames natural, or added in the way of a flamer kit?

 

Natural flames are the only way artificial flames look cr@p IMO but i have had no problems yet either touch wood but i will be keeping an eye on it

 

I've just heard stories from other people that part of the bumper has melted, so I wasn't sure if I could buy anything to protect this. Was thinking about something like the MG rover Z series have?

 

Mine are natural too, nothing like a bit of excess fuel on overrun

I guess that if your exhaust is close to touching the bumper then it may cause problems, but probably more from the heat of the exhaust rather than the flames.

How about sticking some temperature strips to your bumper and see how hot it gets?

The temperature strips are a good idea. The exhaust is almost touching the underside of the bumper. The only options I can see is to change the rubber exhaust mounts to slightly longer ones or put something on the bumper to protect it.

 

i had un-natural flames on mine, 6foot plus ones, never seen carbon deposits let alone anytype of damage... only flamed when driving though, not stood still

it doesn't get hot enough to burn the bumper.

 

Exactly, it is literally just a quick flame.

I get antilag twin flames out both exhausts and its all cool.

 

almost gave 2 old men a heart attack yesterday with the pop that came out of the exhaust changing to 2nd. was only driving steady as well! heheh, had to chuckle, they were having a right old gander!

 

I've popped a few flames out now, and so far no hint of any damage.
