Default Can my MY03 take 225 45 17's ?

Hi,
Would my WRX MY03 take the following tyre size - 225 45 17, currently there is the usual 215 45 17's, so i'm gussing not as it will alter the rolling radius ...
cheers
James
PS whats the width of the rim? 7" ??

it will not alter the rolling radius as its the width

the only problem may be rubbing depending on what wheels are fitted to the car

Yes not a problem, there are a number of guys that have replaced their standard alloys for the WR1 17" wheels before they put on the 18"s and these are 225 45 17.

Because i have removed a set of the above mentioned rubber from my previous car .. and seeing as there is still 7/8mmm of tread left - it seems a crying shame that i've beend only offered £250 for it, so i might as well use it.

Just dragging this up again ....... but the WR1 wheels are 7 and half in width, so that will flattent the tyre slightly ... ?

It will slightly because it's 45% of 225 instead of 45% of 215, but it should be fine, and as you've already got the tyres, put them on, you'll soon know if they rub.

Wheels and tyres are on, they don't rub - and have plenty of clearance.

What pressure do you think i should have in them? the standard scoob pressure of 33/32??

cheers

The rolling radius is altered slightly but according to my Road Angel the speedo is now more accurate.

For pressure I'm sure my handbook says 33/28.
