Default My scoobies clutch, is it on the way out?

I bought a sport on monday and have been out spinning in it, but am finding the clutch hard to use. I had a saxo 1.1 before the scoob, and could drive it fine, the clutch was quite new. My scoob is a W reg, so not that old, it has done nearly 50,000miles. It 'bites' when the cluth has been almost completely let out, but I tried pulling off in third and it didn't slip, just stalled (emplying that the clutch is not on the way out. Are scooby clutches different to others? How do they work?

I think they normally have a high-ish biting point.
