Default What mods have you done without remmaping

As above really. I want to see what mods people have done that have given a performance difference, either good or bad, without mapping.

Cheers,

Wayne.

ind kit, decat exhaust and bailey dumpvalve. should be 10% power increase. i went for a rolling road and it was 7bhp less than standard but it was the hottest day of the year and very humid. the responce is quicker and it also now sounds like how it goes! on the power graph the fueling was good and had my mechanice check the boost and it was spot on and held 0.8.

ecu upgrade next to an apexi power fc which will have to be mapped anyway but ive got no problems so dont see mapping as an issue yet

Thumbs up

without mapping

Turbo swap
Adjustable recic dump valve set to max stiffness
dawse device
boost increase to 1.4bar peak
pannel fillter
lightend flywheel
full 3" decat system
Full samco hose set including inlet pipe

drives nice

what else im hoping to get away with....

sti8 intercooler and a bigger turbo
might need a fuel pump tho, time will tell!

STI8 IC?

Not to rub it in but I have one on its way!! Thinking about remote mounting the ISCV instead of welding the IC. My aluminium welding sucks!!

Mods already

Zerosports IHI turbo VF22 ish
Zerosports 3" cat downpipe with magnex system
Zerosports up pipe
Zerosports ECU
Ported Headers - not mapped for
Samco boost hoses
Dawes at 1.2

My new mods without mapping will be

STI8 IC - not yet fitted
Dawes at 1.3 or more and second unit at 0.5 bar
Headers of some description - not yet fitted

i was planning on getting a second hand set and pestering sumbody like harvey to port them for me
i cant weld at all im afriad so i was planning on asking sumbody to sort the IC for me as well, i have one in mind, just waiting for the owner to fit a FMIC then i can buy it
from memory yours is a 98wrx isnt it, can you run the boost higher then 1.2bar and it wont det or fuel cut?

i had a vf22 fitted but killed it, now running a vf23, although i fancey a td05!

Boost has been as high as 1.3 with no cut, but it doesn't run smooth?!

It is indeed an MY98 WRX.

That is interesting isn't it. I was wondering about doing that mod on my car. I guess the extra det is due to the better flow and therefore leaner AFR

MY95 WRX
Panel filter.
Centre Decat on 3inch system.
Dawes set to 1.05 bar.
It's been set up like that for about 2years, and apart from the usual maintenance, I don't generally mess with it.

Manual boost controllers are more common on here than I was expecting....
