Default Speedo recalibration

Is it possible to recalibrate the (electronic) speedo in an STI4 (MY98)? When my speedo reads 60mph a Road Angel only reads 52mph - this seems typical over a range of speeds; 12-15% discrepency - is there a pot on the back of the speedo or something to adjust it????

I would think your Road Angel is off speed....I used to have one, and it was quite abit off the Actual Speedo. Now have a Originb2, which is near enough the same..

The speed readings are obtained from the Satellites, hence can be little slow..

I've tested my speedo before and I know that it is out - following other people through speed cameras etc I'm sure they will be going 30mph, yet I'm reading 34mph. So I know the speedo is inaccurate. I want to alter it - can it be done???

if you are not running stock tires the speedo is only calibrated to the revolutions and not the distance and will be off - from 0.3 to 5%.

If you are running stock tires/stock size the speed sensor would be the liekly candidate but if it works at all it won't be busted. It could be the cable type VSS however - not sure if those can be 're-calibrated'
