David, life of a box is so dependent on how you treat it obviously, but I have an Sti v3 box, non dccd, in my hillclimb car with 314 bhp/280 lbft. It has been thrashed for 3 years with near racing slicks as tyres.
It is perfect, but I never power shift.

I have also run an RA box (1996) and that was perfect too.

The later boxes ie V4/5/6 5 speeders were stronger still, and are a substitute for a 6 speeder @ £500 instead of £2000 but still close to limits of a 350/330 engine (and a gentle hand!)

Hope that might help, and use a good oil!

The adjustable diff needs a controller, either the subaru one or GEMS do one for it (Scoobysport are also developing one). Without a controller the diff will be in the fully open position so 34/66 split front to rear.

Dave.
