Default Any one used Pirelli Run Flats?

Hi,

Ive just brought some Pirelli Run Flat's for the scooby and was wondering if any one else has had them on before? and what they thought of them?

Ive been told there the same as the Pirelli P zero (nero)!?

Cheers,

The general opinion is that run flats aren't very good. To run flat they obviously have to have a far stiffer sidewalls than normal tyres. The sidewalls of normal tyres act like small springs and the suspension is designed to work with the extra bit of bounce the tyres give.

Wouldn't fit run flats to my Scooby I'm afraid.

Cheers for the replys lads!

yeah im quite intrested to see how it handles with these on cause i have been told that their fitted to the new mini range, and the new six serise BMW, but who know's.

I agree with what you say about the tyre wall, its a very good point but a mate of mine who has a mini cooper s, says he couldn't tell the difference when he had to change all 4 tyres and went for potenza's!

How do you find the missus's mini handle's?

Cheers lads, Shimy.

But that's because that car has a suspension designed for run-flat tyres. The Scooby doesn't!

Thanks for the replys lads.

Got the tyre's on now, and ive got to say they handle very well!!

Whas a bit concerned at first cause the standered 16" alloys had eagle F1 tyre's on but the Run Flats handle just as good. When over steering round a bend you still have a good amount of grip there to play with.

The ride dosn't feel any harder either, so that's good.

So over all review gives the Run Flats the thumbs up from me! Handle very similar to the p zero's, but ill still say that potenzas are the best all round ive been on, they just dont last very long!

Cheers,
Shimy.
