Default O5 STI PPP hard to start??

My car has been difficult to start for the last few mornings.

Put the key in, turn and the car splutters and coughs a bit and then dies...turn the key again and it starts first time.

Any ideas??

You need to de-cat it.
Go around to the back of the car before you try starting in the morning. Grab the furry tail sticking out of the backbox and pull that damn moggy out....ba-dah!

Do you turn the ignition to position II and wait momentarily to allow the fuel pump to prime?

Its a bit of a ppp symptom. Mine did it not long after being fitted - but it got a lot better and I haven't had the problem since.

As JB stated, always turn the ignition on then wait 2 secs for the fuel system to prime.

The only times I have had problems staring the car is when I have failed to follow that advice.
