I find my car MY02 WRX will turn on and off the fan regardless what the temp guage says. So its sounds pretty normal to me.

Sorry to give conflicting report but only noticed mine coming on twice and that was stuck in traffic with air con on after a good run down the M6!

seems they are tempramental.

Gave the car a good thrashing at lunch, let it idle for 5 mins and no engine fan came on.

Strange.

As long as no probs are present or occur, i suppose all is well.

Mgg

According to my SECS gauge the rad fans kick in at 96 degrees...... without fail However the fans do seem to kick in at odd times, usually when I have the bonnet up listening for non-existant noises when cold (it's a paranoia thing with the mods I have)

The temp gauge on the binnacle stays in the same place despite the water temp fluctuating 15-20 degrees so I guess the OEM temp gauge pretty insensitive.

Midlife.....

PS in answer to your other post it seems pretty common for revs to rise during changes, mine does.

Cheers Midlife.

I know what you mean about being paranoid.

I've only had the car just over a week, it only has a WR Sport BackBox and i worry over everything, listen for noises etc etc.

Apart from that, loving every minute of driving it.
