At least they've tried to make it different ... but the first one was so significant that makes it damn hard to follow! Not sure about the Dizzy Rascal bit - I like his normal stuff - but his lines don't seem to fit! And The Darkness on guitars ... euewwww!

I'll still buy it though!

Not as good as the original..... the new one doesnt seem to fit that well together, musically it sounds thin... Bono's bit isnt as powerful as the first one.

But at least there's people out there having a go for a good cause..

so yeh, i'll buy it

Sounds out of tune, got some bad-boy wannabee rapping halfway through it and some stupid sound effects and instrumentals.

I was cringing this morning listening to it. For the first time in my life I would have preferred to listen to fat **** Moyles shouting his head off rather than listening to that garbage.

Its a battle of ego's, various people trying to make their contibution heard. Awful, awful, awful. Regardless of the good cause I will not buy that piece of crap.

I have not heard it (the new one)

but

even though its for a good cause and all I cannot sanction having a CD in my house that not only features will young, but also busted, blobbie williams and not one but TWO bedINGfields !

its not gonna happen

I would rather give the money direct to charity (which is what all the millionaire 'pap' stars would do if they really cared)

IMHO of course - and I am probably in a minority

load of crap being spouted of as normal...i suppose the original with bananarama, boy george and wham (oh...and status quo!) was picking the cream from modern music 20 years ago!

don't know why they couldn't write a new song rather than murder the original onder2:

still it's for a good cause so I'll probably buy it and make the kids pretend it's theirs.

Question

if you want to support a "good cause", why not give a few quid directly to a charity, rather than buying this PoS?

Moron reply alert.

I wasn't addressing 14 year old kids - i was addressing people here who said they would buy the record even though it is of dubious artistic merit, simply because it's "for a good cause".

hth.

I thought it was OK, nothing great but bit of a half ar$ed attempt if u ask me, if they wanted to do it like it was originally done they should have all got together and sung it together and maybe sung a different song, something some effort had gone into. I honestly started laughing when Dizzee rascal started rapping..lmao

Sounds like some bad instrumental version being sung over - something you'd get in Phoenix Nights.

thing about the original was it was a group of artists came together to sing a soung that sounded like a song, this 1 sounds like a song butchered by around 5 different styles of music so all the artists can stamp there own patch on it IMO really cr@p

Dizzee Rascal. FFS the bloke's a complete and utter gobsh!te. Rap? With a silent 'C' for sure.

His new single's a feckin joke while we're at it and this bloke won an award last year!

Sounds like my dad, pissed, trying to rap. Completely ruined any chance they had for the single to grow on people because that rapping is so sh!te!
