Lightbulb Twin-cat centre section???

Probably a really dumb idea, but I know no better, so...

I fitted a decat downpipe a few months ago (to a 00MY turbo) together with a new backbox. Both were from the all-new Scoobysport and I'm completely pleased with both.

I'll be buying a decat centre section before too long, and was thinking about the MOT due in early January.

Now, Centre sections are a piece of **** to swap over compared to downpipes, so fitting the oem catted centre for MOT purposes won't be a problem. Trouble is, there's only a slim-to-middling chance that the car will pass emissions with only the centre cat in place (from the info that I've managed to get hold of).

So, my question is this...

Do you reckon that it would be possible to weld up a twin cat centre section (using the cat from the centre and possibly the downpipe), and would this have any chance of passing the emissions test?

Like I said, probably a dumb idea.
Cheers

Kev

would think the centre cat would be ok if there were no problems under the bonnet. just get her nice and hot immediately before the emissions test.

Kev,
Some cars do pass with just the original centre, however it is possible to use a twin catted centre, I have one! although the extra one is not a subaru one, it came off something else I think, if you wanted I could take a couple of pics for you if you wanted to make one, let me know!!

Or, if you wanted a trip to Dorset for an mot, you could come down, borrow it, and then bring it back later!! Long shot.

If it's not too much trouble, photos would be great, ron.

The MOT tester has offered to do an emissions test for free if their rig is free when I next drop in. Might take him up on it before I mangle things up....

Thanks RON. Don't go to too much trouble, though.

Satndard centre but with additional cat, only slight modification required. Please note, I did not make this section, I inherited it from a previous owner..
