Default DumpValve Causes CEL! HELP!

Hi, Fitted a bailey dump valve yesterday with correct fitting kit to a 93wrx import. Engine ran like ****e, kept stalling, so i thought that i wish i'd listened to all the negative comments on here about dump valves, so put it back to standard straight away. But now after about 1 min of driving Check Engine Light comes on and car seems to run like its very very cold (i.e. can't get a slick gear change). What have i done?!
Been told that i should disconnect the battery for a few hours to clear the ECU's memory tried that............. managed to drive for about 2mins before CEL came on again.
HELP!

check the rubber hoses on the dump valve. one may have split when when you refitted them.

what type of d/v have you got? i tried a £40 one and it was ****e, apperently you need a piston type valve, i bought my mates nomad racing d/v from an rs turbo and it works well sweet. not sure bout you management light tho dude, have you checked the code it flashes?

Was a bailey dump valve double piston type so i thought, found out from Bailey Technical support line (very good) that it's a single piston type and WILL NOT work with an impreza.
Got engine to run properly again now by leaving battery disconnected for 5 hours then on start up running the engine at 2500rpm for one minute. So far seems to have done the trick! Going to try a mates double piston one tomorrow, provided i don't get CEL flashing at me again whilst i drive to work!
