SCOOBYSPORT EXHAUSTS
Its not a gasket as such, its more like a fibre? type ring. Changed my down pipe recently but needed a garage to get that part off for me (rusted on) they justed used the original ring. Hope this helps

I think it may depend on what exhaust/downpipe & model of car you have. On the newage cars, where the downpipe joins the cat pip (under car) it has a "normal" type gasket - but where the other end of the cat pipe joins the rest of the exhaust there is a "donut" type gasket.
If you have a classic impreza then I don't think you will have the short catpipe that I refer to above.
Hope that hasn't confused you.
bottom line is - There should be a gasket after the downpipe. It could be a "normal" type or a "donut" type depending on above.
Mark.

mark,
i already have a ss centrepipe and back box,and now im fitting the ss downpipe, there was a gasket in good condition between the downpipe and manifold but between the standard downpipe and ss centre the metal gasket fell to pieces when we took it off(rusted) so do i need a new one for there and if so where can i get one?
BM
Yes, I would recomend you get a replacement gasket to fit between downpipe and centre section. I got mine from a scooby dealer - not sure where else you can get one to be honest.
Might be worth a PM to "MEF" - he seems to have some gaskets for sale

BM I've got full scoobysport system with new japs style back box on mine all with standard gaskets. the centre one joining the downpipe to mid section is about 8mm thick donut shape angled to a point on the outside. the back box one is a flat 2mm thick one

Which scoobysport exhaust have you got - the original one made by H&S or the new one made by Janspeed?
I have the H&S one fitted all with standard gaskets
