Cool

Being the kind hearted sole that I am , for a small fee (£40 each) I have some 17" slicks. They are 225/625 x 17s (225mm wide x 625mm rolling radius).

They are ideal for Scooby owners with 17s, as they are almost the exact same rolling radius as 215/45 x 17s (a popular Scooby fitment by all accounts...).

They are Pirrelli Tarmac Rally spec slicks (with wear indicators and a slight cut groove, as per the tyres on the Puma Cosworth Rally car). Obviously you would have to pay for Northhampton Tyres to swap them to your existing wheels on the day. Because they have a tread pattern in them, they are semi-road legal and could be used in both the intermediate and top classes for Silverstone.

A word of advice to those that have never used slicks before, they take a lap to warm up and are WORSE than road tyres until they have some heat in them......

Anyone interested knows how to contact me.....
Best regards
Mike

Hi Mike,

Would the extra 10mm width cause the wheel to 'rub' on the rear suspension or wheel arch?

Edit due to problems with brakes.

Cool

David,
I would have no idea, it really depends on how much room there is with the current wheel / tyre combination on the car.

I have no problems with fitting them on the rear of my car, but cannot on the front as the rolling radius is too big (even 215/45 x 17 tyres touch the liners on the front, whereas 215/40s don't), but this is on a Cosworth.

If you want me to bring a set for you to try, let me know.
Best regards
