Hi
Have just had a lightened flywheel fitted to MY00 UK Turbo. Its a standard flywheel lightened to 7.5kg.
It makes a big difference on pick up, and general driving the engines revs much easier.
Cant recommend it enough.

I recently had a Fidanza 5.2KG flywheel fitted at the same time my clutch was getting replaced. It makes a huge difference in pick up, especially in the 1st 3 gears. Idle speed and quality was not affected but it pulls much harder than before. Although it is slighty harder to get the car away from a standing start, you soon get used to it (it is a very fine line between bogging down and too many revs). On the up side, I now also get another 15 miles to £25 of Optimax.

Wink

didn't realise I could use the same flywheel even though it has cracks on it....just looks quite bad and also has raisd spots on it. I suppose if this can be skimmed and lightened, this would be the most cost effective option?? or would it be the same as getting a replacement lightened item.

I'm based in west london, anyone know somewhere I can have it done?

Have seen the Fidanza one on a website in america for around $355, anyone know where I can source one from over here?

Have also noticed that scoobyclinic do one for around £300 any good?

would like to here from anyone else who has had one fitted.

cheers guy's.

I originally enquired about an Avo flywheel at J W Racing. The guy I spoke to said there was approx 4 week wait for the Avo gear as it has to be specially ordered but he could get Fidanza easily. I took him up on the offer and it cost approx £345 delivered. For an extra £45 over the Scoobysport one, it is almost 1KG lighter.
