Question Tiscali Broadband Manual Setup.

A friend's just got a new computer, and I've been asked to setup up the internet connection on it.

The ISP is Tiscali, and it's connecting with a speedtouch USB ADSL modem.

I've got the drivers off the net for the speedtouch. Is it easy enough to set up the connection details without the original setup disk from Tiscali?

I'll probably be able to figure it out once i'm in front of the computer, just wondering if there's any info i can go armed with that will make things easier.

I'm guessing a bit at the moment, as my broadband connection is through a router, so i've not done any setting up of a USB ADSL modem based connection.

Cheers,

John.

since you got the driver for it, it will be easy. you will need the username/password for the "dial-in". your friend should have it as they are provided by the ISP.

p/s dump the usb modem and get a router! have a look at www.qtds.com. they are only £25 (+VAT) for a 4-port router and it comes with SPI firewall! or even go wireless for £38 (+VAT)

Make sure you install the drivers BEFORE connecting the modem to the USB port!
