In reality is 50mb of web space enough for a small website? And also 500mb of bandwidth?

50Mb has been more than enough for me in the past. It's not until you start offering large downloads (movies, high quality images etc) that the actual amount of webspace provided becomes an issue.

I use Host-Plus for my sites. Nice yearly payments, email etc and a good user control panel.

www.bargain-hosting.net not the biggest but value for money is pretty impressive and the support has been good. Runs on 2003 and includes all sorts of add on and on the higher level services can host multiple domains under a single hosting package.

Another vote for Titan. Webmail, yup, hosting, yup, domain names, yup, bloody good service (I'm in Canada, have a problem at 3pm our time so 8/9pm UK time, sorted usually witing 20 mins), damn bloody right.

Go with em, you know it makes sense.

A friend of mine works for a large B2B ISP, and I recently asked him about moving my domain and he recomended these guys too. Titan look good also, just had a quick look. Just stay well away from UK2.net

Thumbs down Avoid hostplus

Hostplus are rubbish in my opinion. My main e-mail accounts have been down for the last week - so I can neither send nor receive e-mail anymore. In addition, ftp access stopped working two days ago. They do not respond to support tickets anymore.

I've given up and moved my site elsewhere today, even though there are still 5 months to run before the contract ends. Luckily the domains are registered at Joker, so I can change the DNS settings myself without relying on hostplus and their non-existant support.

Like I said AVOID!

Considered Titan, but the webspace is too limited for the price. My current [family] site is 140mb without webmail, which would cost 200 squids a year...

Have gone with webfusion, paying monthly so I can abandon them quickly if their offering isn't what they promise.
