Question What's The Max HDD Size?

Hi All,

I have an ASUS A7A266-E motherboard, with an Athlon XP 1800+. I currently have two HDDs - one at 60GB and one at 80GB. I am buying a Western Digital 200GB drive from a mate at work, but I am worried that my board won't recognise it. I have checked ASUS's website, but it doesn't say what the maximum HDD size is.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks

Daniel

not sure what the biggest is but I've got a 250GB. You won't have any problems. your mb supports UDMA 100/133 drives so just check its compatible with that

Thanks for the replies guys.

The drive is an ATA 100 EIDE drive, so I assume it will work? Oh well, I'll find out on Monday when I pick it up!

Thanks again

Plugged the drive in last night, and my motherboard sees it fine!

I'm now a happy bunny, with 340GB of HDD space!

At the moment the biggest you can buy is 400gb from hitachi.
they are holding back all the bigger drives. i know they have developed a 800gb drive, but dont seem to think there is a market for it yet
