Default Advice on tuning a Terzo (MY97/98)

I've been slowly upgrading parts as and when they wear out, and I'm thinking of now going after more power/driveability. Any advice would be appreciated, especially if you've tuned a Terzo.

I'm not after a 300 bhp+ monster, perhaps more like 250-60ish with better torque. The scoob's a daily driver which does a mix of roads including motorway so I want to keep the emissions kosher and noise levels reasonable.

I know Power Engineering do a remap, but are there other ECU/map options without going for the potentially overkill MOTEC/GEMS route? Was there a PPP for these MYs? If so, is it any good?

Currently mods are:
Uprated brakes (moved from 2 pot to 4 pot with braided lines)
Uprated clutch (Helix from the now-defunct Scoobysport)
H&S backbox (the old Scoobysport version)
Boost, Oil Pres & temp gauges

Cheers!

for 260bhp maybe the following will suffice.

1) dawes device
2) knocklink and sensor
3) afr meter
4) Boost gauge

second hand cost approx £150.

ps I have a rather nice boost gauge for sale.

as your not after 300+ then there really ought not to be a need for remapping if you do it sensibly

you will also need to consider:
downpipe approx £150
centre section approx £50

MOT time you either find yourself a friendly station or simply replace the catted centre section.

Thanks for the reply Andy - Do you have any det problems running a manual boost controller?

From what I've read most people look at a remap to make sure the ignition and fuelling stay consistent with the boost level - that's one of the reasons I was looking at the modified ECU route

no problems with DET,
but that is why you must have the knocklink and afr to keep a constant monitor on the situation.
