Default creaking steering column

Hi Folks

I've just started to notice a creaking noise coming from the steering rack when i turn the steering wheel..only noticable when the car is moving very slowly ( say pulling into a parking spot ) or if stationary. Car is an MY00 thats done 38k miles. I havent noticed any change or vagueness in the steering feel at higher speeds though.

Any ideas anyone? Power steering problem? Worn rack?

Cheers in advance
Rich

Same here MY00 !!!

From what i have found out it is either the steering rack rubbers or some sort of bush under the steering wheel.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Thanks for the info, just a few questions...

Was this diagnosed by a Subaru main dealer?
Have they resolved this for you? ( and under warranty? )

Cheers
