Default Why do I have a toyota supra oil filter fitted to my Impreza!

I posted a while ago on here. I recently imported a sti ver V and whilst performing a service last week we found the vehicle fitted with a GREDDY remote oil cooler kit and a GREDDY oil filter.

The oil filter marked OX-O2 was not the equivelent subaru OEM filter. After a lot of searching and use of babelfish

- I found that the filter is the same one as fitted to

TOYOTAS

Soarer 2.5 l 6 cylinder turbo years 1990 - 97

Supra 3.0 l 6 cyl turbo and non-turbo years 1993 - 97

Do you think this could be doing more harm than good?
