STOLEN WRX
#1
If anyone does happen to come across a silver WRX with STI badges and 17inch Sparco Racing alloys stolen from outside my house at 02:15 this morning in Stevenage.....please please let me know. It had a CAT1 and CAT2 alarm/immob fitted but the bast**ds just by-passed it. The number plate is L92 MCF and has SIDC membership stickers in the front and back windows. There is a reward for the return of this car.
Please mail me at phil_gregory@hotmail.com with any info. Thanks very much.

Sorry to here about this. What on earth is this country coming too? With are living in a society where people have no respect whatsoever for each other.
Very depressing. I hope you/the police find the people that did this and they get the punishment they deserve.
Capital punishment should be brought back.

Thanks Mulder...I just feel so low. It had just been serviced at Power Engineering in Uxbridge. I just hope that the alarm/immob was'nt tampered with there. I heard the car going down the road and watched it turn the corner. There was no broken glass on the ground which makes me think that it was a pro job. How the hell they got round the security I will never know.

Total b*****s
I hope you get it back and the scum who nicked it get banged up and taught a lesson in prison.
This is totally out of order. It sounds like a pro job. But also a little suspect that after you had work done..It goes missing?...
I would check that no keys were cut in the area?....Check your local Mr Minnets or something.
Sounds a little organised to me.
Good Luck.

Thanks for all the messages guys. It had a low level rear spoiler and STI front light covers. It was in immaculate nick (no pun intended). I spoke to a chap at Max Power who informed me that they had intended to run a feature with regard to getting your car serviced and CHECKING that the alarm/immob had not been tampered with afterwards. Apparently, this sort of thing is starting to happen more and more....makes you think alittle. Just check your security after a service...dont let it happen to you.

Zippo,
Sorry to hear about your bad luck.I had my beloved RS2000 nicked 10 or so years ago , and I'll never forget the feeling I had when I found out.
Anyway, if your motor's wound it's way up north by chance, I'll keep my eyes peeled. You never know!
Poynton,Cheshire area.

I doubt (prove me wrong) that someone at Power Engineering would tamper with your car to be able to steal it later - they all drive Fords!.
Have you had the car valeted recently or left it anywhere else (eg exhaust centre) unattanded??
Just tryina help!

Are those wheels gold? I saw a car fitting this description in the Loughborough area today it seemed to stand out as it had STi covers on the fog lights with a low level spoiler sorry did not see the number, will keep an eye out.

zippo,
sorry to hear the sad news. when my MY97 was stolen it was later recovered (about 10 weeks later). it was in a lock-up in birmingham. the w*nkers were using scoobs/evos to nick **** from warehouses.
on a depressing note it may well be worth hurrying along the insurance company as i had to wait near on 3 months and the car was recovered just when they were about to pay out. The damage was repaired but i only ever drove another 40 miles in the car and later on in the week traded it in for something way less conspicuous (and slow).

Sad news - keeping eyes peeled in Bucks, had a couple of motors nicked in the past when I lived near Brixton - they weren't Scoobs but it hurt just the same.
How's the response from the boys in blue and insurance - last time it happened to me they wrote it the car off in under a month so the check was quite quick (but then so was the excess...)

There has been alot of scoobys pinched in the South Wales area recently. Police say that a professional car racketing group are responsable. A mate of mine recently witnessed a next door neighbours scooby being lifted by a low-loader right outside his house. He thought it had broken down. (Idiot) It was 2.00am.
Sorry about your car zippo.
Don't rely to much on the police however, because they are to busy pulling young so called boy racers over and giving them tickets.
Hope you find your car Z.

Sorry to here about that, Zippo.
I had an Integrale nicked a few years ago, same sort of thing, car went in for a new clutch - picked it up, got tailed all the way home (about 30 miles!) by a bike that stopped and watched me pull into my drive and guess what....It went walk abouts that night! My advice is never trust anyone, never give you're address to a garage and always watch you're tail when heading home from one!
Not casting aspersions about PE, it just pays to be safe rather than sorry.

Don't see why it would be anyone attached to Power Engineering (or any of the other major firms), they have too high a profile in the Scooby world. If word got out that cars that went there regularly got knicked, their customers would be gone overnight.
Does sound like a professional job if there's no glass and the alarm was bypassed. Don't suppose you noticed anyone watching the house or following you home?
If I think I'm being tailed, I stop early and wait, or I drive straight passed the house and go around the block. I hope it pays to be a little paranoid.
Will keep an eye out for it.

Is it me, or are we all shortly going to have to go on a driving course that teaches us to watch out for tails, and then perfect the art of the 'J' turn, handbrake turns and the like commonly used by professional chauffeurs?
It has got to something where we are watching for this sort of thing...but having said all that, I think I shall be a little bit more careful and keep an eye out in the future.....
