Question Blitz SUS induction, MY01, have I fitted it right??

Hi.
Ive fitted a blits induction kit, in the instructions, it shows a diagram that seems to say that this metal bar should be fitted on the inside of the cone. This looks wrong to me as it will disturb the airflow to the sensor. Im no expert on this matter so would like to know what you think.

Thanks for any help,
Rob.

hi that is definatly wrong! do you have pics of the bar by itself
it should not go on the inside it might be the external support

Rob, has your car been re-mapped to cope with the additional air flow, if not be very carefull, i have seen the K+N Typhoon cone filter fitted to an MY01 and it was detting like a bitch at medium to high revs as it was running too lean.

I wouldnt put an induction kit anywhere near an 01 onwards car without a custom map.You will also definately get a premature MAF failure due to one of these.A new MAF is £360 + Vat as you cant buy just the sensor on its own you have to get the complete airbox (I know from experiance with an ITG filter) i was lucky as i borrowed an 03 from somewhere and swapped the sensor.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice Zippy.
I do have the car booked in for an ECU tec remap in a couple of weeks when my down pipe arrives, also got a knock link on order, so will take it very easy until then. About the MAF, I thought that it was an issue with oiled filters, contaminating the sensor, thought I would be OK with a dry filter such as a stainless steel blitz. Is this not the case then?

Heres the instructions anyway, it does seem to say Ive done it right?????????

Thanks, Rob.

Best thing you can do with that Blitz is get rid of it!! and fit an sti panel filter instead

That way you will save on a new MAF and probably a Turbo........

This ****e destroyed 2 of my Turbo's as the filtration is useless - gave the Turbo compressor wheel a fair bit of sanding with all the fine particles until the thing shattered.........

Avoid............... sell now!
