Guys,

ive just had my clutch replaced two weeks ago, but now she is jumping out of 1st gear!! Not all the time but every so often!

This has only started happening since the clutch install. Never used to do it before and ive been driving her for nearly a year with no 1st gear problems.

Is this related to the clutch being replaced with dodgy workmanship!!

 

when is it jumping out of gear?
ie when you lift off or under acceleraton?

i have had this on a few and was usually down to the syncro on 1st but seem funny just after clutch change, but the clutch my be biting better now and thus putting more strain on the syncros and making them work for a living and showing up a weakness .. chris

 

it only does it when i stick it in 1st gear and then as soon as i go to lift the clutch pedal she jumps out with some force.

Even if im just going to pull away at traffic speeds!!

sounds like a syncro problem..how is the box in other gears ..if you lift off then reapply quite quickly .. chris

 

I dont have any jumping out in other gears although sometimes when dropping from 5th to 4th you can feel some resistance.
