Default Throbbing in the seat of my pants

My MY04 WRX has still only covered 500 miles after 4 weeks of ownership.

When the car is standing still and the engine running, I sometimes feel a very slight rocking motion in the car. Is this just the engine ticking over ? I presume that it is made worse by the fact that the car is nowhere near run in yet.

Another thing to bear in mind is the design of the engine means that it naturally rocks from side to side

A feature of the 'flat four ' engine means the pistons move from side to side rather than up and down like most engines , hence a slight rocking motion when on tickover ,shouldn't be too noticable though

I get exactly the same in my MY03 STi.

The tickover is very low at 500rpm so this will increase the effect.
