Forester / 2lt non-turbo with high mileage?
I need a load lugger for work, and I've been looking at getting a Forester.
I've found a 2001 non-turbo at what looks like a good price, but it's got 125k miles on it. Other than that, it's in good nick, a good runner, and has FSH. The dealer assures me it's all motorway miles, which seems reasonable given it's only 3 years old.
Anyone got any good/bad experiences of running a high mileage Scoob, particularly a Forester?
Any info/advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Deano

From a longevity perspective it will be the same as a scoob...you're looking for the usual 'high mileage' stuff - gearbox, interior etc . Might be value if the FSH matches up right and it's cheap enough. Won't be particularly economcal though .....

My dads selling an auto one at the moment.
About 2 1/2 years old, thirty some thousand miles.
I'm sure he'll accept trade value for it, and for that it is a Very good car (pretty mich mint)
I usually buy his old cars!
Fuel economy not as good as you might hope for the Non turo cars though (low 20's)

The economy is a bit of a shock - I'd been told around 25 MPG for stop-start, low 30s on a run, which seemed to match the official figures.
Maybe I'll have a rethink - I need a 4x4/soft roader, and the Forester seemed like it'd suit my purpose, give around the same economy as a diesel 4x4, with a better on-road driving experience. Plus I seem to be able to get a bit more for my money, considering my limited budget.
And it's a Scoob, of course

Thanks all for the replies.
