Angry Car Getting Slow????

Hi im in need of some advice, i bought a 1997 WRX import about 4 months ago and it was running well, it has a fujitsubo exhaust system, a HKS induction kit and a dumpvalve, it used to pull really hard, but lately it isnt, why could this be? Also i changed the Rad not so long ago. Any advice is appreciated,

Cheers

i thought that as well but my friend commented too, it just seems to lack the pucnch it used to have, i thought it may be due to the hot weather? I know this sounds silly but could the coolant alter performance? ie not cooling enough causing the induction kit to suck in hot air? I was thinking off draining the system, flushing it and running Redline water wetter, anyone heard about this?

Thanks fot your help

Dodgy fuel? I've had the same problem with MY03PPP, which comes and goes. The actual performance seems to be there, as it isn't measurably slower to 100 at any time, but sometimes the turbo loses the kick in the back feeling, which leads to me thinking the car is slower. It likes Esso super, turbo comes in with a kick in all gears and pulls like a train to the red line.

you might be getting used to it, it does seam to happen quite a bit

i swapped the turbo in my 97 wrx a month or so ago and now im used to it it feels crap lol, i start to feel that the car has got slower, its only when you goto a drag strip or sumthing and you beat your best time when you think "ok it hasnt got slower"

do u have a boost guage??

unfortunately not, i would like one, new to the scooby scene, not really to sure what to do next i would like more power. i would like to think its almost 300BHP, its the phase two engine, has an exhaust and filter, just ordered a H&S downpipe, what do you reckon would be next?

Thanks for your help

it might be 2 factors 1]the waethers hotter and 2] youe ecu might have retarded the ignition gradualy to compensate for the lower octane fuel..try a ecu reset and se if it makes a diffrence.

bog standard 97 wrx has 280ps standard on 100 ron fuel, so you should be looking at 260ps on optimax. your downpipe and full decat will make a BIG difference. you will be well on your way to 300 ponies. Enjoy.

cheers

mine had a boost control issue and was over boosting and then shuting down the boost

in the rollers it made about 260ish with a wavey power curve
i fitted a dawse device and set the boost to 1.05bar and ran it again on the rollers (same day about 1 hour) where i was rewarded with 280bhp and 258lbft torque (more torque then a sti)

optimax and a shot of NF booster will give you 100 ron fuel
