Front strut removal
Was having a look at how the front strut comes off my 98 uk wagon this morning, the brake pipe seems to be routed through a flange connected to the strut outer casing, does this mean the brake pipes will need to be disconnected or is there a "trick" to getting them off the car without the need for bleeding
Thanks
andy

Remove calipers from the strut, and tie them up out of the way. You will probably want to clamp the calipers to stop the pistons from coming out whilst off the disk.
IIRC this is was i did when i changed my springs.

Slight problem there as the calipers are bolted to the HUB and not the strut, the strut bolts to the hub, then you have the added problem of the brake line being connected thru the flange in the strut, i think its going to be a case of removing the brake pipes

I've just changed the springs on my legacy.....
I didn't have to remove the calipers or the hose..... luckily I had enough play in the hoses.....
....granted i have braided hoses and probably they are possibly a bit longer than perhaps standard....

Remove clip and carfully with a junior hacksaw or similar cut the bracket - bend it pop the brake line out. When refitting carfully put the brakeline back through the bracket and straighten bracket with pliers - put clip back on
