Default running lean

spoken to a few peeps already about this, but just thought i would get some further opinions on the subject.

Car- MY04 WRX, full decat, JW panel filter.

have been suspiscious over the last week that the car was pinking 4rth/5th gear.

confirmed today. had a RR day, and the car performed well

Bhp 257
torque 237lbs/ft.

but running lean. 12/1 14/1 at one point.

what i want to know is whats the cause of this. and secondly what are the possible fixes. i know a remap is a definte fix, but dont really have the £700 to get it carried out. is it possible to uprate the fuel pump and fit a fuel pressure regulator with guage.

anyone had a similar experience on a new age.

thanks in advance

Paul.

Running lean?
My WRX03 similar with yours has a full Scoobysport exhaust with STI back box and even with the SS back box it wasn't lean!
At what point, revs, throttle etc could you tell us?

pinking develops between 2500/3000revs. its very auidable. could be happening further up the rev range also, but exhaust is too loud to hear any pinking. been informed today that remap is the answer. i am either unlucky or there are a few scoobs out there with a similar set up running lean. my advice would be to anyone who has a full decat on new age, to get it RR.
