I have a MY99 UK Turbo.

What Turbo do I have fitted and would a TD05 be a worthy upgrade?

 

Standard fitment for a UK model will be a TD04. A TD05 with front entry conversion would be a good upgrade with supporting mods

Depends really on what you are aiming for in HP terms?? What Mods if any do you already have? The TD05FE will be capable of producing up to ~350hp with supporting Mods.

Mods so far are:

Full 3" de-cat exhaust system

Turbo -> Intercooler -> Throttle body, silicone hoses

Non re-circ dump valve

Boost, Oil Temp and oil pressure gauges

 

With your current Mods as a guideline you are likely to need :-

Knocklink
Lambdalink (or suitable AFR)
Uprated Fuel Pump
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Injectors
Panel Filter or Induction kit
Remap

It Should be a TD05 with a 90 DEG entry

Is that good?? Excuse me for sounding dumb, but I haven't had my car long. Always had Cosworths!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've also been told that the 90 degree entry restrics the amount of power you can get out of the engine, is there any benefit in changing this??

Rich Wild (Jap Innovations) runs 385 bhp on standard injectors with this turbo I think. Fair enough theres plenty of mods in there though.

Aiming for approx 320-330 bhp myself (UK97) with full decat; panel filter; FCD; HKS EVC boost controller; TD05 and uprated fuel pump. Clutch now needs replacing though to handle the extra!

 

The Front Entry conversion does help with regards to flow, though some on here have managed ~350hp with the 90Deg entry.
