Just bought some red stuff pads for my first trackday at Croft and wondered if they need bedding in and if so are they ok for use on public roads as I thought they needed warming up before they work properly. This could be a problem on a motorway if you need to brake in an emergency as they would be cold. Any advice would be appreiciated

Thanks
Charlie

Yep they do need bedding in, they are fine for the road, EBC recommend them for the Impreza for the road. I am using Reds and although they need a little warming up I can say they are ok. They are a bit soft for the track, I have seen a set worn out in 3 laps of the Ring, and thats not a hard track on brakes, no fade though. Take some spares with you just in case, have fun.

The best man for EBC advice is Kevin at Sejoc.

I was told they need 500miles to bed in,I only did 150miles and then did 30-40 laps of Knockhill and that was the set down to about 3mm.got yellows in at the moment to give then the full bed in 500,ready for K/hill on the 30th.
