Default Legacy Crankshaft Sensor - Same as Impreza?

Is a 1994 Legacy Turbo Crankshaft Sensor the same as an Impreza Crankshaft sensor?

My Legacy wont start and confusing me like mad! I have my Impreza on Axle Stands and could nick that sensor if needed for a while.

Will I have to butcher the sensor or not though?

Thanks

might have to fiddle with wiring but it will work, polarity is important too..

Jon, The crank and cam sensors usually have coloured ceramic / plastic either brown or black. We've found that providing you keep a pair of black or pair of brown they swap and work fine every time. Assuming same shape and wire connection. One of the legacy ones has a long wire with a connector some way back up the loom. The more regular variety is the one where the connector is at the sensor.
