Default Octane Booster does it make that much difference

Being fairly new to the scoob game i have seen a few comments made about the above .
a few questions

1 - What difference does it make ?
2 - Will it do any damage to my engine ?
3 - Is it legal ?
4 - whats the difference between millers & NF

Thanks for your time

It (unsurprisingly) increases the octane rating of the fuel, which increases the fuel's resistance to detonation.

No, quite the opposite. The whole point behind booster when used in Japanese market cars is that it prevents the engine lunching itself due to detonation caused by the octane rating of UK market pump petrol being lower than the engine is designed to run.

UK market cars are already set up to run properly on our super unleaded fuel, so there shouldn't be any need to run booster if your STi is actually an STi Type UK.

3 - Is it legal ?
Of course.

4 - whats the difference between millers & NF
NF Race is more potent than Millers, so you don't need to add as much of it to raise the octane rating of the fuel to the same degree.

Q...???

Is it Ok to use 105 RON fuel in a My03 STI???

Something like Cool Blue Racing fuel... it says it is but was wondering how soon the ECU would adapt to the change...?

Anyone know?
