Sump Bung?
Hi,
Can someone explain what a sump bung is and how it is fitted?
Only asking as I am going to fit an oil temp gauge and was going to drill the sump and fit an adaptor, wanted to know if the sunp bung is an easier option.
Cheers,
Jess

It's basically a bolt with a threaded hole through the centre of it to accept a sender unit. ie. it allows you to fit a sender into a bolt hole which is of a different size/thread to the hole.
Scoobymania sell a sender bung. Apparantly they are not selling the sump bung type any more, but instead are selling a bung that locates in the block nr piston 3.

Yes, but you are better off (I think..) using a point behind the intercooler, as this means you don't have to mess around with the sender everytime you do an oil change.

Am I right in thinking that I can use the existing oil pressure point for my oil pressure sender Unit (using extension pipe) and then use the point under the intercooler for the oil temp sender?
