Mongoose do a full 3" system with downpipe, but it doesn't sound as good as the Revolution (which I also have). My brother had the Mongoose and it was softer sounding and boomier than the Revolution.

hmmmmmmm. shame. was looking for one quite a bit louder. still pondering the idea of getting a local company to make me up a bb to fit the same system.

BPM do a full 3" system, if you can get hold of one. Scoobymania also do one and are probably a better bet if you want it this year. And I thought some of the Japanese ones were 3" too.

Dave.

The backbox on the Revolution system is quite big, because it is the only box on the system. If you got someone to make up a slimmer-boxed rear section, it certainly would be louder, and also if you made sure they didnt put a resonated tailpipe on it, then this would also help.
By the way....have you ever heard your system from outside the car???? I used to think it wasn't that loud until I heard it from outside as someone else drove my car. Its a very clever system, to keep it quiet inside the car, but to be so loud outside.

i know lol. thing is, whenever i want to hear it, i'll take it through a tunnel with the windows down, but after 3 years of ownership, i just want something a bit throatier!!!! so, basically fitting a slimmer bb, will make it sound louder?

thanks for the help so far lads

HKS stuff is obviously top quality but carries a hefty price tag for an equivalent spec system to the Revolution. Because Revolution slightly changed the configuration, you wouldn't be able to just add an HKS back box, you'd need to change the full whack to HKS.

Yeah, a slimmer back box would do it, cos your back box is the only bit that's providing any silencing, so making it smaller will reduce silencing. Also making it shorter as well would work. Carefull not to attract too much attention from the Feds!!! It will be LOUD!!

Hi Dave

Me got a nice big 4.5 inch tail pipe which is connected to a 3inch bore HKS HE HE HE

You want noisy then you need to go for blitz or HKS but as has been stated they only fit to there own counter part's.

Cheers Dougie

im thinking of putting a blitz backbox on mine the rest of the exhaust is 3" so i feel there is no need to change but my back box only has the 2.5" bore.

i think blitz will look and sound the best

3" systems.
Scoobymania. Loudish.
Roger Clark Motorsport.
Hayward and Scott. and many more. You will find a performance gain on a modified car with an open neck 3" down pipe.eg RCMS.

APS - but the 3" system is probably a bit quiet for what you want (90-95dB). They also do a 3.5" race version that's a lot louder (100dB)

That APS system looks like it was designed for the Queen Mary. Expensive too.

If you're considering selling your whole system (or indeed backbox only) let me know a price.

Look in either of the two jap specific magazines for Revolution Motorsports advert.

IIRC, the website isn't named with Revolution in it, but can't remember what the site is.

As DaveW stated at the beginning of this thread, the BPM 3" system in LOUD. I have it on my MY99 UK TURBO, and with only a scoobysport downpipe and hks panel filter, I'm putting out 255 bhp and 259 lbft torque.
This is a loud system, but not too bad in the car, in fact, most of the noise in car seems to come from the front, probably the downpipe. My wife has sat in the back on full chat, and says its much quieter there than the front!
Does sound awesome on overboost too, and has been known to spit flame
chris.

how loud is the revolution system?

Mine's 2.5 Scoobysport (RIP) DP, TSL decat centre, Magnex 6x4 BB.. so not that loud really, altho a bit bassy but less so since headers went on..
Kind of like tyhe idea of the HKS hyper due to the fact I can whack the bung in when the wife/kid are in the car or we have to endure the motorway misery..
