Default Blue Smoke!!!!

Ive noticed recently that sometimes and ONLY sometimes when I start my car MY02 STI that there is a small puff of blue smoke from the exhaust, the car isnt using an excessive amount of oil (about half a litre between services)

However if i start the car and move it say 20 feet stop turn engine off when I restart it the puff of smoke is sometimes there and if ive been enjoying myself ie spirited drivingand stop then restart l8tr its sometimes there aswell.

Has anyone else experienced this???
Should I be overly concerned??

Is there any tell tale signs I should look out for to point to a potential problem

Could it be the oil is too thin?? Or needs changing??

Comments welcome

i had this and it progressivly got worse, then all of a sudden it looked like an old banger found i had no water in. took it to subaru who replaced a rotten radiator pipe. that was about 10,000 miles ago. running sweet as a nut now though
check water/coolent levels, check oil isnt over filled.

it turned out to be no3 oil scraper ring not doing its job

just like that easy ehh :/

when i took engine to bits it was mint inside
possibly a dodgy batch of oil scraper rings

i would say mine does that as well. do not know why. had it a year, no problems. just keep her topped up. mine is 'just' a turbo though, not an sti (wish it was!)
