Does anyone know whether there are some new roadworks about to appear around Knutsford services on the M6.
Coming Northbound towards the services this morning i notice two (brand new) GATSOs plus fresh ruler lines on each lane.
The first GATSO looked almost permanent, in a small hollow cut into the embankment, and the second was hidden behind a bridge upright (good deterrent value, hey!).
Southbound there is another GATSO, again hidden behind a bridge. I also noticed that each GATSO appeared to have an orange fridge-sized box near them - probably a generator.
If they were as efficient at doing the actual roadworks, as they were at installing GATSOs, we would have the clearest roads in Europe!

Don't know, but sounds exactly like the lil 'ol beasties we've just recently got rid of on the M11 ('cept they had blue boxes the size of port-a-loos). If you know Dick Grimes, next time you see him, ask how many (thousand) got nabbed over the 16 wk period.
There was a 40mph limit for 3.5 miles each time & it was actually amazing how easy, for the most part, the traffic seemed to flow. Only added 5 mins max to the commute each way (less there was a breakdown).
Enjoy the roadworks
