On my 5 Type R, more often than not when it is cold, the steering is really hard to turn on the spot or when moving slightly or the power steering is really jurky, when it does this the battery light comes on the dash. I have checked the fluid and that seems ok, can anyone shed any light.

 

Check the belt tensioners , mine were too tight and it whined and the battery light came on..
