In the absense of a search facility, could somebody please point me in the direction of the website, that shows how to trim the turbo heat shield after fitting an open neck down pipe, or mail me with instructions
Cheers
Chris

Looking at those pics - don't think I'll need to cut it.
Looks as if drilling out the rivets should make it split in exactly the right place.
Can anybody confirm ?

You can remove the lower heatshield but I would keep th eupper shield intact, you need to make the round hole at the back of the shield bigger to allow it to fit over the DP.
An easy way to do this is to make radial cuts around the existing curve and bend the strips outwards a little.

Ali - Probably spotwelds - just 4 or 5 around the join.
Tripple - Gasket is there
Heat shield now sorted - didn't remove the lower part, just trimmed to extend the original radius.
Chris
Oh go on then - the truth is - I called in @ whites on the way home and Nick had one pre cut in his tool box - fitted like a glove
Cheers Nick
