Why do (asian) people do it?
Is it some sort of 'religious' symbol or something?

 

Not sure about the Asian comunity but i know alot of the hgv boys do this,i was told that it's incase of a front facing camera,to reflect the flash?
I didn't think that they flashed these days? sounds a bit on the hopefull side to me.

 

I "think" it has the words to a prayer on or something like that.

I am fairly sure this is a Muslim thing too.

it is an Asian thing, most popular with Muslims with the prayers inscribed on it for safe journeys and that.

Even though u can get versions for Hindus and Sikhs the majority u will come across are Muslims (99.9%)

I have noticed that but darent say anything lest it be considered racist pointing out that a particular group in society has any discernable traits.

Anyway, what stupid and distracting thing to have on your mirror, it would p1ss me off no end !

another popular thing amongst Asians and Africans is the Gold and Velvet tissue box on the rear shelf or on the dash...............

Aha yes the gold tissue box, standard accessory on a Merc 'init'

 

Its actually a ladies hair extension.

Diffficult to say exactly what it is, but for example:

An Asian guy buys a car that some people could be jelous of, so he puts the hair extension on the towing eye, to stop the jelousy.
