Im getting this strange tapping noise when idleing ever since the 10k mile service.

Anyone else experience this?

 

Maybe the oil change has something to do with it, did they use a thin oil?
I remember reading that with thin oils they can sound abit tappety.

I had the same thing with my STi7. When I took it in to the dealer they told me it's probably running low on oil. A quick litre of oil sorted it out. They really do drink oil, I had to fill it up every 4K-5K miles.

you wanna hear it when you leave them for i couple of weeks and the oil has drain out the tappets, sounds like a bag of spanners for a few miniutes. I was very frightened!!!!

 

so this is normal?
