Question

This is the way I want to go. I thought I had the whole deal buttoned up with a scooby sports full exhaust system, but having read a few threads, I may be wrong (nothing new there!!)

So, in short, I'd like to hear what you guys and girls think which full exhaust system will give me the maximum power for the lowest noise increase.

Zak,

If you want very quiet, look at Remus for the backbox.

I have a MRT downpipe (with high-flow cat), MRT centre with sliencer and Remus backbox.

Flows better and is much quieter than OE exhaust.

Hi Gavin, thanks for the response.

Would it not be worth just getting an all in one Remus system? Or does that not give a decent power advantage or something?

Zak,

AFAIK, Remus only make back boxes - but they are VERY quiet. I would guess(?) this is to get sales in Switzerland.

Most European exhausts you can "mix and match" so you could create your very own "hybrid" exhaust.

Thanks

Gavin

I had the same anxiety. Prodrive perf pack with Falkland DP , STi centre section and Prodrive round tail pipe on MY00 is commendably quiet, fabulously torquey and pretty damn fast. The induction kit is louder, but outside the car at full throttle things are quite noisy. But only on wide throttle, not otherwise.

I've a full SS system on my MY01. It's LOUD. Was worried initially as to whether I could live with it, but used to it now and enjoy it.

Given that the MY01 is generally quieter inside, it could be even louder if yours is an earlier model. Best idea is to find someone nearby who has one and listen for yourself.
