The problem explained could be a number of things. Can you check the the engine codes to see if you can find any sensor errors. Could be electrical or say the fuel pump on the way out.

 

On a right hand corner? Scoobs don't corner too well with only a quarter showing on the guage

Have you got a check engine light? If not, it's probably a fuel filter or fuel surge problem (the two could be related -- clogged filter won't flow fuel very well).

If you have got a light, best get the fault code checked.

Having only owned my car a little while I am petrified its bust.

Driving home with just under 1/4 of petrol (ron 98) accelerated hard (not mad) got to 5000 rpm and engine just dies, dropes to 0 and car stops dead.

I start the engine again and fine dose not happen again.

There are no mods to my car, and it was given a full service a week prior.

Does anyone know what happened?
