Question

I've noticed through a range of threads that there have a been a few questions about the effect of mods on warranty.

Do we know what the party line is from Subaru on this ?

e.g. I would expect an induction kit or the like to make a differnce but say just a back box (magnex or SS) ?

I would love to know as have unmodded MY99 and dont really wany to risk the warranty.

Thanks

T.

This seems to depend a lot on your dealer, some e.g. Tileys in Bristol fit SS backboxes with no problems, even their own demo WRX has one fitted, best bet is to talk to your dealer to see what they are prepared to do or go to Tileys

Some dealers are sympathetic even to downpipes apparently. Induction kits prob a no-no from warranty point of view due to the worries re failed MAF sensors.

Note that a backbox is unlikely to make any significant performance difference alone, and will mainly be cosmetic/aural, although some may disagree the obvious restrictions are the factory resonator before the airbox and the downpipe.
