Please can someone advise what is the interval for replacing the spark plugs. I have a 98 Legacy and have done 45000km. All the other stuff like regular oil changes etc. have been kept but I haven't changed the spark plugs from new. I keep getting told by my mechanic that the standard spark plugs last for ages and don't need to be changed as regularly as normal cars. Is this true or should I have changed them ages ago? I don't feel anything wrong with my car and it drives perfectly, just worried that its been 3 years and i haven't changed them yet.

Also what plugs does anyone reccomend? Or should I just go back to Subaru and get the OEM ones?

The OEM plugs are NGK, look in your user manual for recommended intervals.

The Platinum tipped plugs last about 100,000Km before they require replacing
