Default What thread size is the oil pressure sender?

Thinking of fitting some gauges to my MY00 and at the moment I'm trying to get to together all the connections and adaptors necessary to do this. I'm hoping to fit Smiths gauges from Demon Tweeks with all the associated senders. The oil pressure sender has an 1/8 NPT thread and the oil temp is the same size. Also if anybody knows if it would be wise to fit the temp sender to the blanking plug above piston No. 3, I belive this is where the Defi oil temp sender is fitted. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Jamie

Thanks mate. I've looked at that and it's very helpful but all I need is the actual thread size so I can buy the adaptor. I'll phone the dealer tomorrow to try and shed some light.

Hi Jamie,

The bung above #3 cylinder is for the Oil Temp. It has a thread size of M18x1.5 and the bung has an 8mm hex socket. So, you'll need an 8mm hex bit to remove it.

It can be very tight, but I used a 1/2" 8mm hex bit, 1/2" 12" extension bar and a good sized 1/2" torque wrench and it just came straight out.

I bought my adaptor from Le Mans Motorsport - M18x1.5 -> 1/8NPT

The Oil Pressure is fitted under the Alternator. It already has an adaptor with the OE sender. You could either fit a T-piece and run with both or (like me), just fit the sender straight into the existing adaptor.

I have some pics and info on my website.
