Please help,

my 93wrx check engine light come on, not always, but occasionally when it is around 5.5k rpm or about 130mph or when it's going up hill.

It will go off either when the car is slowed down or switched off and started again.

Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas of remedy? Please help. Thanks

 

Join electrical connections under the dash to display error code & check it against the list provide @

 

sounds like what happened on my my01 wrx.

light would come on at around 5k revs, then would go out if you switched the engine off for a while or would go out on its own whilst driving !!!

turned out to be the camshaft positioning sensor faulty.

 

Had similar prob on my legacy. checked codes and ended up replacing knock sensor.

 

I had very similar problem on my MY99 Impreza Turbo. Turned out to be the oxygen sensor.
